About Homeopathy
Homeopathy is the second most popular medical therapy in the world, and the most popular holistic system of medicine. It treats each person as a unique individual with the aim of stimulating their own natural healing ability. The British Royal Family has been under homeopathic care since 1820 and there has always been a Royal Homeopathic Doctor. The Queen carried her ‘black box’ of homeopathic remedies that included 60 vials of homeopathic medicines with her on all her travels.
Homeopathy is based on the principle that you can treat ‘like with like’, that is, a substance which causes symptoms when taken in large doses, can be used in small amounts to treat those same symptoms. For example, drinking too much coffee can cause sleeplessness and agitation, so according to this principle, when made into a homeopathic medicine, it could be used to treat people with these symptoms.
However, one major difference with homeopathic medicines is that substances are used in minimum dose which makes them non-toxic and so gentle that they are completely safe to use even during pregnancy, for elderly and are particularly effective for children including newborns as it will avoid some of the side-effects and adverse reactions of conventional medical treatment.
What Conditions Can It Help?
Homeopathy is applicable to a broad range of maladies including acute inflammations, systemic imbalances, chronic degenerative diseases and mental/emotional disturbances. By its very nature, homeopathic treatment is not specific to a particular illness, but is directed at the underlying state of the person suffering from that illness. By addressing this state, the appropriately chosen remedy effectively addresses the illness.

What Benefits Can Be Expected?
You can expect the healing process to begin. This does not always mean the symptoms will stop immediately. Everyone is different, and therefore everyone can expect to react slightly differently even to the same homeopathic remedy.
There are no side effects or drug dependencies possible with such a natural and gentle system of treatment. If someone doesn't respond to the first prescription then other remedies will be tried until one is found that works. The only 'side effects', if they can be called that, is that people often improve in many other ways as well as the problem they came for.
What Is In The Remedies And How Do They Work?
Homeopathic remedies traditionally derive from an extraordinarily wide variety of plant, animal and mineral substances. They are made through a process of serial dilutions, where the original substance is diluted in water and is 'successed', meaning that it is energized by shaking the dilution. The resultant remedy solution is then diluted and succussed again. This process is done repeatedly, sometimes hundreds or thousands of times, resulting in an extremely dilute and highly energetically potent remedy. By selecting a remedy that closely matches the individual characteristics of a person, a homeopath is able to stimulate a deep curative reaction.
Since the remedies are highly diluted, they do not contain significant amounts of the original substance from which they are made. Therefore, they do not have the toxic effects associated with many conventional medications or other substances. They are, however, powerful energetic stimuli and must be used with discretion.
What Are Healing Reactions?
Healing reactions are temporary symptoms that occur as part of the curative process only on deep healing regimens in which the body retraces or goes back and heals old infections, wounds, injuries, or other imbalances from the past. Many are related to eliminating toxic substances, healing chronic infections, or metabolic shifts that take place as a body heals and its vitality increases.
Healing reactions are welcome signs of healing and a confirmation that deep healing is taking effect instead of just a symptomatic relief.
Most healing reactions are mild and pass very quickly.
Can Homeopathic Remedies Be Taken Along With Conventional Medications?
Yes. Many people who seek out homeopathic care are already taking conventional medication with the goal of reducing or eliminating the medication. With the proper remedy and treatment plan, this is often possible.
How To Take And Store The Homeopathic Remedies?
For good results taking homeopathic remedies, please follow these guidelines.
How to take homeopathic remedies:
All remedies are absorbed through the mouth. Avoid consuming anything by mouth for at least 15 minutes before and after each dose (unless urgent). This includes toothpaste or tobacco, food, and drinks except water.
Single pill
Take a pill out with a spoon to avoid handling them with fingers. Place the pill in the mouth. Chew it, suck it or swallow it after that.
Shake and take
Place 2 pills in a small or medium sized bottle of water (500ml). Each time you wish to take a sip of the water shake the bottle two or three times first. The more intense the symptoms the more of the remedy you sip as symptoms subside reduce how often you take the remedy. Make up a fresh bottle of water and pills after 24 hours.
Water potency
Shake the bottle 3 times, then take three puffs of the remedy directly under the tongue. Each time you wish to take the remedy shake the bottle three times first.
Ř How to take tinctures
Place the specified number of drops or volume of tincture in to a small quantity water and drink the water. Alternatively, you may prefer to add the tincture to apple juice.
Avoid touching pills.
Use a clean teaspoon instead, or tip one or more pills into the clean glass, then tip the pill into your mouth. Do not swallow. Suck or chew until dissolved. The taste is pleasant. For children or animals, you can crush the pill or dissolve in a little water. If you drop a pill do not use it.
Remedy Storage:
Please store all remedies carefully, in a cool dark place, out of direct sunlight, away from strong smells, electronic equipment such as telephone base stations, mobile phones, TV’s, computers and microwaves. X-ray machines at airports are ideally avoided but if you are travelling and need to take remedy(ies) with you they can be protected by wrapping them in aluminium foil wrap or lead-lined photographic pouches.
Anything containing very strong smells, such as menthol, camphor, eucalyptus or strong mint - e.g. cough/throat sweets, cold sore cream, Olbas Oil, Deep Heat, certain strong toothpastes and sweets, strong fumes e.g. paint and creosote may interfere with your remedies.
Keep out of reach of children. Although accidental doses are not harmful to children, like any small particles, homeopathic pills can slip to the windpipe causing breathing difficulties.
How Long Does It Take For Homeopathy To Work?
Homeopathy can work in seconds or it can take years.
The severity and history of the problems will usually determine the length of time needed for true cure to happen. For example, a chronic pathology such as lifelong asthma will take more time to heal than an acute case of poison ivy.
How Frequently Is It Appropriate To Have Consultations?
For the first 6 months to year it is best to see me every 4-6 weeks in most cases. However, this may differ in any particular instance.
When Not To Use Homeopathy?
Although homeopathy can possibly be of benefit for the treatment of any condition, a positive outcome is based on working with a competent homeopath and a willingness to commit to a mutually acceptable treatment plan. If you are unable to do this, it is not the time to do homeopathy.
